Inspired by our Canadian origin, we wanted to create a space that feels warm and homely. Our first family home was in Canada, so this style is very close to our hearts.
This modern farmhouse design is full of unique features from herringbone laid timber floors, to recycled brickwork, vertical wood cladding on the exterior and a glorious void over the living room to bring in the natural light. The home also has a large shaker style kitchen and butler’s pantry. The laundry room is combined with a mudroom not only for functionality but also for an amazing design feature in this farmhouse style home. With four bedrooms, three ensuites and two living spaces this home brings together the Farmhouse and also modern living expectations for the Australian family today.

Laundry/Mudroom
This laundry is no ordinary laundry, it also houses the mudroom of the home. This is a space designed to house all the shoes, jackets, sports gear of the family on entry from the garage. The laundry is functional and also features a laundry chute from the first floor. This mudroom is a typical area found in the Modern Farmhouse style homes, so we could not leave it out of this house. We love the fact that it brings something unique to the home, definitely shows the difference of working with a custom home builder.
Kitchen
The heart of the home, a spacious shaker style kitchen. It wouldn’t be farmhouse style without the gorgeous exposed barn sink. The kitchen and butlers pantry have two ovens as well as two sinks, perfect for the entertaining family. The stone bench is a Carrera finish 40mm thickness making this kitchen look grand and high end. Open plan dining space combined with the kitchen to make for easy entertaining and interaction while in the kitchen.
Living Space
Featuring two living spaces, one on each floor, the home is perfect for the family. The home is cosy and inviting. The timber floors and architectural features in these spaces repeat that farmhouse style throughout each space of the home.
Bedrooms
There are four bedrooms in the home. Guest bedroom with an ensuite and walk in robe on the ground floor, and three spacious bedrooms on the first floor. Bed two and three have a Jack ‘n’ Jill ensuite with walk in robes. The master bedroom is a stand out, with a large double vanity bathroom, spacious walk in robe and a wet bar for coffee on the balcony over looking the pool area. The home creates a warm, comfortable feeling but is also luxurious with the modern inclusions.
Exterior
The home exterior boasts the farmhouse style with the high pitched roof, vertical wood cladding and recycled brickwork. The garage door is also custom made to suit the style. The windows work in with the style also, there was no detail spared on the exterior of this home. The pool even has the brickwork featured on the pool fence with glass. We have taken the Farmhouse style and made it modern to suit the needs of the modern Australian family.
